If water soaks into the outer fabric instead of beading, the water-repellent finish has worn off. Wash the jacket, then restore the finish with Gear Aid Revivex, either the spray-on Durable Water Repellent or the Wash-In treatment. The Revivex spray is PFAS-free and made for GORE-TEX, eVent and NeoShell.

A small field repair kit
For a multi-day walk, a strip of Tenacious Tape fixes a torn jacket, pack or sleeping bag without sewing, and Seam Grip WP seals a leaking tent seam or glues a tear in a pack. The Zipper Lubricant Stick 2-pack is silicone-free zip wax for a tent door that jams at night or a wetsuit zip stiff with salt.
