No, we don't sell or ship stove fuel. The Optimus Crux runs on EN417 butane, isobutane and propane-mix cartridges, which most outdoor and camping stores in Australia stock. Buy one before you head out, and pack it inside the pot so the cartridge travels with the stove.
For one person, a 1 L to 1.3 L pot boils water for a dehydrated meal and a hot drink, or cooks a solo serve of pasta. Two people need about 2 L. For three or four, a 3 L pot or the Frontier two-pot set lets you cook rice in one and curry in the other.
No. Sea to Summit say their Frontier and Detour cookware is for stoves, not open fires, and the Frontier pans have handles that aren't made for flames. The Detour 5L's three-ply base also works on induction and electric hotplates. The aluminium Frontier pots don't work on induction.
HE stands for heat exchanger, the finned ring on the base of the pot. It catches more of the flame's heat, and Optimus say it shortens boil time and saves fuel when cooking. On a long trip, that can mean carrying less gas. The Terra Weekend HE and Terra Xpress HE both have one.

• Solo, cook and sit down: the Frontier UL One Pot Cook Set is a 1.3 L pot with a Passage bowl and cup packed inside, 341 g in all.
• Two people: the Frontier Ultralight Pot in 2 L (255.4 g), or the Collapsible Pot Cook Set, a 2.2 L pot with bowls and cups that squashes to 5.1 cm thick.
• Three to four: the Frontier Ultralight Two Pot Cook Set nests a 2 L and a 3 L pot, in a 6-piece (829.6 g) or 14-piece (867 g) set.
• Base camp and car camping: the Detour Stainless Steel Collapsible Pot holds 5 L, works on gas and induction, and collapses to 6.9 cm.
Add the 20 cm Frontier Ultralight Pan if you want eggs and pancakes, not just boiled water.
Camping stove kits and heat-exchanger pots
The Optimus Crux Weekend Cook System is our camping stove kit: a 3000 W Crux burner, a 0.95 L non-stick saucepan, a fry pan that doubles as the lid, and a canister stand, all in 372 g. Optimus rate a 230 g cartridge at up to 90 minutes on full power. The Optimus Terra Weekend HE and the 1.75 L Terra Xpress HE pots have a finned heat-exchanger base, which Optimus say cuts boil time and saves gas.
We don't sell or post stove fuel. Buy EN417 gas cartridges from a local outdoor store before you leave, and never run a stove inside a tent or vestibule.
Cooking on Australian tracks
Total fire bans and park rules often mean no campfire, so plan every trip around a stove. Sea to Summit's Frontier and Detour cookware isn't made for open fires anyway. Wash up well away from creeks with the Sea to Summit Kitchen Sink and Camp Kitchen Clean-Up Kit, and pack a Gerber Fire Starter as a backup in case your lighter dies.
