Description
The Sea to Summit Kitchen Sink is a soft, collapsible camp sink made from PU-coated 70D nylon, sold here in 5 L, 10 L and 20 L. Fill it at least four-fifths full and it stands up by itself, with a stainless-steel stiffening ring that stops it collapsing when full and a base that is wider than the top so it won't tip over.
What it is
A washing-up bowl that packs into its own zippered pouch. Use it to carry water up from the creek, wash dishes well away from the water source, or have a proper wash at the end of a hot day on the track.
Who it's for
Hikers and campers who want to keep detergent and food scraps out of creeks and lakes. The 5 L is the size to carry on an overnight walk, the 10 L suits a couple's camp kitchen, and the 20 L handles the dishes for a family or a group camp. If you only ever boil water in a bag and never wash a pot, you can leave it at home.

Carrying water away from the creek to wash is the heart of Leave No Trace in camp, and a sink that stands on its own makes it easy to do every time.
Looking after it
Keep the water at 60 °C or cooler: boiling water straight from the billy is likely to damage the seam tape, so top it up with cold first. Never use bleach, even diluted, as it breaks down the PU coating and the nylon. Dry the sink before it goes back in the pouch, and fix any pinhole with a dab of Gear Aid Seam Grip + WP.
