Frontier Ultralight Two Pot Set

The Sea to Summit Frontier Ultralight Two Pot Set is a 1.3 L and a 3 L pot in hard-anodised aluminium with a PTFE-free ceramic non-stick coating, strainer lids and removable Click Safe handles. The set weighs 571 g and nests to 19.6 x 18.5 x 14.3 cm, sized for cooking real meals for two or more on a camp stove.

Who it's for

Couples, families and small groups on backpacking, cycle-touring and paddling trips who want to cook dinner, not just boil water for it. Two pots means pasta in the big one and sauce in the small one, or a curry and rice ready at the same time at a campsite on the Murray. If you travel solo and live on dehydrated meals, a single pot will do; this pot set is for the crew that cooks.

Capacity and what it cooks

The 3 L pot handles a full pot of pasta or stew for three or four people, and the 1.3 L pot covers sauces, rice, porridge or water for hot drinks. The lids have strainer holes, so you drain pasta or rinse rice without fishing for a separate colander.

Materials and heat

Both pots are hard-anodised aluminium alloy, which spreads heat quickly and evenly, and the inside carries a ceramic non-stick coating that is PTFE-free and PFOA-free. The set is BPA-free and non-PFAS. By weight it is 74% aluminium, 23% 304 stainless steel (the handles) and 2% silicone. Use nylon or wooden utensils for everyday cooking to keep the coating smooth; an occasional metal spoon will not hurt it.

Cook on a camp stove. These pots are not made for the campfire, where the heat would damage the handle release and soot clings to the coating, and they will not work on induction.

Packing and nesting

The 1.3 L pot sits inside the 3 L pot, and the whole set packs to 19.6 x 18.5 x 14.3 cm at 571 g. Reverse a Click Safe handle across the lid and it locks the lid down and holds whatever you have nested inside, so a gas canister, stove or mugs travel without rattling.

Handles and safety

Each pot has a stainless steel Click Safe handle that slides on with an audible click and then holds firm, however full the pot is. To remove it, squeeze the thumb tab and lift. The handles swap between Frontier pots. The silicone LidKeep inside each lid clips the lid to the rim while you stir, so it stays clean and off the dirt.

Cleaning

Wash by hand with warm water and a soft sponge. Dishwasher detergent damages the anodised aluminium.
