Description
Tent poles that have gone floppy and fall apart as you pitch, a jacket hem drawcord that has lost its snap, the bungee lacing on your pack that sags when you stuff a jacket under it: Gear Aid Elastic Shock Cord brings the stretch back. You get 213 cm of 3 mm black cord, enough to restring, re-lace or rig whatever has gone slack.
What it fixes
- Stretched or snapped shock cord inside tent poles
- Worn drawcords on jackets and packs
- Bungee lacing and tie-downs for strapping gear to a pack
- Tensioning tarp and hammock lines
The cord is made from synthetic rubber and polyester. It is firm enough to push through a sewn fabric channel without bunching, which makes re-threading a hood or hem drawcord far less fiddly.
How to use it
- Pull out the old, slack cord, keeping any cord locks or toggles to reuse.
- Feed the new shock cord through the channel or eyelets.
- Set the tension you want, then tie off the ends or fit a cord lock and trim the excess.
Pair it with Gear Aid's tent and tarp line locks and you can adjust tarp and guy lines without tying knots.
