Description
Gear Aid Aquaseal+UV is a light-curing repair adhesive in a 7 g tube, made for the leak you find on the riverbank, not back at home. Squeeze a dab over the hole, spread it thin, then hold it up to the sun or a UV torch: it cures in under 30 seconds, even under cloudy skies. The repair dries clear, flexes with the fabric and resists abrasion, so a pinhole in a pair of waders no longer ends the session.

Aquaseal+UV bonds directly to neoprene, nylon, polyester and GORE-TEX fabric. It is made for small holes and fast field fixes. For a long tear or a seam, we would reach for Aquaseal FD and a patch instead.
How to use it
- Make sure the gear is completely dry, then wipe away any dirt around the hole. A clean surface gives a strong bond.
- Squeeze a small dab of adhesive directly over the hole and spread it into a thin layer with the tip of the tube.
- Hold the repair in direct sunlight, or shine a UV torch on it. It cures in under 30 seconds.
- Once cured it is flexible and watertight, and you are back in the water.
Apply it between -2 and 49 °C; once cured, the repair handles -29 to 66 °C. The tube is labelled as an irritant, so read the caution on the back before use.
Shelf life and storage
Store the tube in a cool, dry place, and we suggest keeping it in its pack or a dark pocket between uses, since light is what cures it. We stock it because it is small enough for a fly vest pocket and cures fast enough to get you back on the water quickly.
