Frequently Asked Questions
Check two measurements. The Backloader needs more than 22 cm between the underside of your saddle and the top of the rear tyre, and more than 12 cm of exposed seatpost. The Backloader X needs more than 23 cm and 13 cm. A low saddle on a small frame is the usual problem.
We stock one Topeak pannier, the Pannier DryBag 16 L, sold as a single bag. It fits rear rack tubes of 8, 10, 12 or 16 mm. We don't currently stock Topeak racks. See our Pannier Bags collection for other brands.
The Backloader, Backloader X and Frontloader carry a waterproof inner drybag rated to 10,000 mm, and the Pannier DryBag has waterproof fabric with welded seams. The Midloader frame bag is water repellent with water-resistant zips, so put a phone or down jacket in a small dry bag inside.
Topeak bike bags
• Seat bags: the Backloader comes in 6, 10 and 15 L and the Backloader X in 10 and 15 L. Both have a 10,000 mm waterproof inner bag and carry up to 5 kg with no rack. The Backloader Wishbone adds an anti-sway brace. Also the Burrito Pack.
• Bar bags: the Frontloader holds a 12 L waterproof drybag. Also the Barloader and Tubular Barbag Slim.
• Frame bags: the Midloader in 3, 4.5 and 6 L carries up to 6.5 kg. Also the Toploader, Gearpack and Gravel Gear Bag with repair kit.
• Pannier: the Pannier DryBag is a single 16 L roll-top with welded seams. It clips to 8–16 mm rack tubes.
Pumps, tools and cages
Pumps: Roadie Twin Turbo, Roadie 2Stage, Roadie DA G and Mountain DA G with gauges, Racerocket MT and Peakini II. The Smart Gauge D2 checks pressure digitally. The Tubi 11 is an 83 g multi-tool with a tubeless plug kit inside. Bottle cages include the Ninja Master+ range, Tri-Cage 2 and Ninja+ Cage Z with AirTag mount, plus mounts such as the Tri-Backup Pro V.
Fitting a seat bag
Measure before you buy. The Backloader needs more than 22 cm from the underside of the saddle to the top of the rear tyre, and more than 12 cm of exposed seatpost. On a small frame, check the Midloader's height against your bottle cages too. For the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail or the Munda Biddi, pack soft, light gear behind the saddle and heavy kit in the frame.
