DP Mount

The Topeak DP Mount is a diecast aluminium clamp that fits the upper post of a dropper seatpost from 22 to 27 mm, with shims included. The DP Mount weighs 63 g and gives a dropper bike somewhere to carry a Topeak BackLoader, a larger saddle bag, a bottle cage or a Topeak tail light.

What it fits

The DP Mount clamps to the upper post of a dropper, the slim section that slides in and out of the frame, on posts from 22 to 27 mm in diameter. Shims are included. Topeak designed it specifically for rear bikepacking, so it suits trail and gravel bikes running a dropper.

Once it is on, the DP Mount takes a Topeak BackLoader or another larger saddle bag, a bottle cage, or a tail light on Topeak's tail light clip. That opens up a third bottle on a long, dry ride through the Flinders Ranges, or a proper seat pack on a dual-suspension bike for an overnighter in the Glass House Mountains.

How it attaches

The DP Mount clamps to the upper post and gives the bag, cage or light a mounting point. Because the clamp sits on the upper post, whatever you fit to it moves with the saddle when you drop it. Set the height so the mount clears the dropper collar at full drop, and leave enough room above the rear tyre for your bag when the suspension compresses.
