Barloader

The Topeak BarLoader is a 6.5 L handlebar dry bag made from TPU with sonically welded seams and a roll-top closure. The BarLoader mounts with quick-release buckles and hook-and-loop straps, carries up to 3 kg, and rides on the bars by itself or on top of a Topeak FrontLoader as an accessory bag.

Who it's for

Bikepackers who want the things they reach for all day right in front of them: snacks, a phone, sunscreen, a light shell and the map. Run the BarLoader alone on a gravel bike for big day rides, or strap it over a FrontLoader on a multi-day trip so the bulky sleeping gear rides behind and the small stuff stays in easy reach. It suits commuters too, and the included shoulder strap means it comes off the bike and over your shoulder when you head into the café or the shop.

Fitting it to your bike

Quick-release buckles and hook-and-loop fasteners hold the BarLoader to the handlebars, and Topeak calls it a quick-mount bag. On a FrontLoader setup it mounts atop the FrontLoader as an accessory bag. Keep the 3 kg load limit in mind when you pack, and check that your cables and brake hoses still move freely once the bag is cinched down.

Capacity and what fits

6.5 L is room for a day's food, a compact puffy or rain jacket, a phone, a wallet and a small first-aid kit. The detachable inner bag keeps gear organised and easy to reach, and lifts out when you get to camp. The bag measures 31 x 25.8 x 8.9 cm and weighs 325 g with the inner bag.

Weatherproofing

The BarLoader is a handlebar dry bag: TPU fabric, sonically welded seams and a roll-top closure, backed by weathertight zips. Topeak says it protects your gear on dry, dusty trails and in the rain, whether that is the bulldust on an outback track or a wet day in the Victorian high country. Reflective printing adds a bit of visibility at dusk.
