Mountain DA G Dual Action with Gauge

The Topeak Mountain DA G is a mountain bike mini pump with two things you want on the trail: a gauge you can read and a barrel big enough to fill a fat tyre without a hundred strokes. It pushes air on the way in and on the way out, weighs 152 g and measures 25.3 x 4.6 x 3.4 cm.

Who it's for

Mountain bikers and gravel riders on high-volume tyres who want to fix a flat and get back on the trail at a pressure they trust. Picture a puncture at the bottom of a rocky descent at Bunya Mountains or a slow leak on a long Mount Barney loop: tube in, a few dozen strokes, read the gauge, ride on.

Pressure and volume

The Mountain DA G is the larger-barrel member of Topeak's dual-action pump family. Dual action means it delivers air on both the push and the pull stroke, so each full stroke moves 82 cc, doubling what a single-action stroke would. It reaches 60 psi / 4 bar, which covers the pressures trail and gravel tyres are run at.

Valve compatibility

The head fits Presta, Schrader and Dunlop valves, and a thumb lock lever clamps it onto the valve for an airtight seal while you pump. An integrated dust cap closes over the head when the pump is stowed, keeping trail grit out of the seal.

Gauge and hose

The analogue gauge is built into the pump head, a large 28.6 mm (1-1/8 in) dial that is easy to read mid-stroke. There is no separate hose to lose: the head goes straight onto the valve, and the gauge reads as you pump.

Looking after it

Keep the dust cap closed when the pump is on the bike, and wipe the barrel after a muddy ride so grit does not work past the seals. The side mount bracket holds it on the frame beside a bottle cage, and Topeak sells a rebuild parts kit and a spare bracket to keep it going for years.
