All three take a child up to 18 kg plus 4 kg of gear. The Kid Comfort weighs 3230 g and includes a sun roof and chin pad. The Kid Comfort Active is the lightest at 2680 g, with fewer extras. The Kid Comfort Pro, at 3550 g, adds a fixed sun canopy, a rear-view mirror and a removable day pack.
The first number is the main capacity in litres and the second is the extra space you can add. On the Aircontact Core and Pro it comes from the height-adjustable lid: the Core 50+10 carries 50 litres packed normally and 60 with the lid raised, and the Pro 75+10 extends to 85. On the Aircontact Ultra the +5 is an extendable collar.
SL models are cut for women, and they also suit walkers with shorter backs. Many Deuter packs come in both versions, such as the Aircontact Core 45+10 SL beside the 50+10, or the Futura 21 SL beside the Futura 23. Try both if you sit between them.

Deuter Kid Comfort and Aircontact Core: how to choose
All three Kid Comfort carriers take a child up to 18 kg plus 4 kg of gear, from about nine months once your child sits up unaided. The Kid Comfort (3230 g) comes with a sun roof and chin pad. The Kid Comfort Active (2680 g) drops the extras to save 550 g. The Kid Comfort Pro (3550 g) adds a fixed canopy, a mirror and a removable day pack.
For hiking packs, match the range to your load. The Aircontact Core 50+10 weighs 2310 g, carries 10–20 kg and adjusts for back lengths of 42–62 cm. Aircontact Lite and Ultra suit lighter kits of 12–15 kg. The Aircontact Pro carries 15–30 kg for long trips like the Overland Track.
