Duffel Pro Movo 36

The Deuter Duffel Pro Movo 36 is a compact roller duffel for short trips: 36 litres of tarpaulin-tough, TPU-coated polyester on two replaceable wheels, with backpack straps that zip away when you are rolling and come out when the footpath turns to gravel or stairs.

Who it's for

Travellers on weekend and week-long trips who want one bag that rolls through an airport and carries like a pack on a ferry ramp, a cobbled lane or the walk up to a mountain lodge. Capacity and what fits

36 litres holds four or five days of clothes in packing cells, a pair of shoes, a toiletry bag and a jacket. The round arch opening unzips wide so you pack it like a suitcase, internal compression straps hold the load flat, and an inner mesh pocket and a zipped inner compartment separate thongs, chargers and documents. A zipped pocket on top keeps the boarding pass and passport handy. The bag measures 54 x 36 x 27 cm and is built to carry-on dimensions.

Carrying

Two silent-glide wheels roll quietly on terminal floors and footpaths, and they are replaceable, so a worn wheel is a repair rather than a new bag. A stable base with reinforced edges takes the knocks of being dragged up kerbs. The luggage handle extends and stows away. When you need your hands, pull out the padded shoulder straps and carry it on your back on Deuter's Contact system, designed for 4-8 kg and back lengths of 38-54 cm. Clip the straps together and they become a carry handle, and padded grab handles let you haul it out of an overhead locker.

Durability and weight

The body is 600D TPU-coated polyester, a tear- and abrasion-resistant fabric that started life as tarpaulin, and it is hard wearing and water repellent, keeping road spray and dust off your clothes. The whole bag weighs 2520 g with its wheels, handle and harness.

Looking after it

The fabric is made without intentionally added PFAS, and the bag is bluepass and Green Button certified. Deuter back it with a 2-year warranty.
