The Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Day Pack is a 20 L zipped day pack made from 30D siliconised CORDURA nylon that stuffs into its own attached sack. It is the pack you forget you are carrying until the moment you need a second bag.
Who it's for
Walkers who drop the big pack at the hut and head for the top with water and a jacket: Cradle Mountain from Kitchen Hut, the Castle from the saddle in the Budawangs. Travellers who want a day bag for the markets that takes up no room in the luggage. Anyone who walks or rides to the shops and ends up with more than two hands can carry.
Capacity, and what actually fits
20 L in a pack that measures 48 x 20 x 28 cm. That is a rain jacket, a fleece, lunch, two litres of water and a first aid kit, or a good load of groceries. The curved zip opens wide so you are not digging blind for the thing at the bottom.
How it carries
The shoulder straps are reinforced so they lie flat under load instead of bunching into a cord, and the stitching is bar-tacked where the strain goes. There is no padding, so about 7 kg is where a comfortable carry tops out. Put a jumper against your back and the hard items in the middle.
Fitting it
One size, with no frame and no torso length to measure. Put it on, snug the straps and go.
