Description
The Orca Safety Buoy Pocket is a 9 litre inflatable swim buoy, the open water accessory that goes with you whether you swim in a wetsuit or without one. It is made from TPU in high-visibility orange. Clip the strap around your waist, swim off, and the buoy follows a body length behind you with your keys and phone dry inside it.
Who it's for
Anyone who swims outside the flags or away from a lane rope. A swimmer's head is a small, dark shape on a big piece of water, and a bright orange buoy is the first thing a skipper, a paddler or your mate on the beach will pick out. Take it across the bay at Noosa, along the back of the break at Burleigh or around a Snowy Mountains lake.
It also solves the oldest problem in ocean swimming: where to leave your car key. Swim point to point and your things arrive with you.
Two pockets
The waterproof pocket keeps your belongings dry inside the buoy. The second pocket, 20 x 36 cm, sits on the outside for quick access, so a gel, a spare pair of goggles or a cap is within reach while you tread water.
On the water
The adjustable strap is 73 cm long and clips around your waist, with a safety whistle built into the buckle so you can call for attention without taking anything off. The buoy floats behind your feet, clear of your kick and your stroke.
Size and packing
Inflated, the buoy holds a volume of 9 litres. Deflated it lies flat at 76 x 36 x 5 cm, so it rolls up into the corner of a swim bag.
Looking after it
Rinse the buoy in fresh water after a salt water swim, let it dry in the shade with the pockets open, and store it deflated and out of the sun.
