Ultra-Sil Folding Bucket

The Sea to Summit Ultra-Sil Folding Bucket is a 10 L collapsible water bucket made from 30D siliconised CORDURA nylon, fully seam sealed, that weighs 23 g and packs into its own micro stuff sack. It is built for backpackers and campers who want to carry water back to camp without carrying a bucket.

What it is

A fabric bucket with a grey carry handle that opens to 20 cm across and 26.5 cm deep, holding 10 L. Fill it at the creek, carry it back, and you have water at camp without trip after trip to the source. When you are done it rolls back into an 18 x 13.5 x 3.2 cm pouch that disappears in a pack pocket.

Who it's for

Backpackers and lightweight campers counting every gram. At 23 g it is one of those bits of kit you stop noticing in the pack until the moment camp needs water. Next to Sea to Summit's standard 10 L Folding Bucket, the Ultra-Sil version is 65% lighter and packs much smaller. You give up the grab handle for scooping and the ability to stand on its own; for backpacking, the packed size and weight win.

Looking after it

Keep boiling water out of it: anything hotter than 60 °C can damage the seam tape. Skip bleach too, even diluted, as it damages the coating and the nylon.
