Real Deal Glove

XTM Performance Real Deal is a unisex windproof glove built on a GORE-TEX Infinium Windstopper outer, bonded to a soft brushed tricot lining. It has a goat skin leather reinforced palm, silicone grip on the fingers, touch screen index finger and thumb, and a PFC-free DWR coating. Sizes XS to 2XL, in black.

Who it's for

Anyone who is moving hard in cold air and wants a glove that blocks the wind without cooking their hands. The Real Deal is made for mountain biking a frosty Stromlo morning, a cross-country ski at Lake Mountain, a spring tour in the Main Range or a winter walk along the Great Ocean Walk cliffs when the southerly is up.

It is light and close-fitting enough for grabbing brakes, poles and camera buttons, so it earns its place on a cold dawn fishing session too. We stock it as the everyday cold-weather glove: the one you leave in the pack all winter.

Wind and weather

The Infinium Windstopper outer stops wind chill getting to your fingers, which is what numbs them on a fast descent or an exposed ridge. The lining is highly breathable and helps manage moisture and temperature, so sweat moves out on the climb. A PFC-free DWR coating beads off light moisture. Fit and layering

A unisex fit across six sizes, so small and large hands are both covered. Forchettes between the fingers shape the glove for a closer fit and better feel. The index finger and thumb work on a touch screen, so a map check or a photo does not mean a cold hand.

Fabric and construction

The outer is GORE-TEX Infinium Windstopper, bonded to a brushed tricot lining that is soft next to skin. Goat skin leather reinforces the palm at the wear points, where bars, poles and ropes rub, and silicone grip on the fingers holds onto them. The DWR coating is PFC-free, and the Real Deal is a certified carbon neutral product.

Looking after it

Dry the gloves at room temperature after each outing, away from a heater or fire, which stiffens the leather palm. Brush off mud once dry and store them clean between trips.
