Exposure Strada Mk12 Road Bike Light (RS / SB, AKTIV options)

The Exposure Strada Mk12 is a road bike light with a road-specific lens, shaping the beam to combine a long spot with a wide spread so you light the tarmac ahead without dazzling oncoming traffic. It comes in four versions - 1450 or 1700 lumens, each with or without AKTiv automatic dipping. Remote switch included.

Who it's for

Road riders who train in the dark. The Strada is built around a road-specific lens rather than a trail flood - a beam shaped for tarmac, combining spot and wide so you light the road ahead and the verge without throwing everything into the sky.

Which version

• Road Sport - 1450 lumens, 6,800 mAh battery.
• Road Sport AKTiv - the same light, dipping itself for oncoming traffic.
• Super Bright - 1700 lumens on a larger 10,200 mAh battery.
• Super Bright AKTiv - the 1700 lumen light with automatic dipping.

Two decisions, really: how much light, and whether it dims for you. AKTiv senses an approaching vehicle and drops the beam itself; without it you dim manually on the supplied remote switch. The brighter pair also carry the bigger battery, which is where their longer runtimes come from.

Brightness and runtime together

1450 lumens on the Road Sport, 1700 on the Super Bright, with runtimes from 2 to 36 hours depending on mode. The batteries are substantial - 6,800 mAh on the Road Sport and 10,200 mAh on the SB - which is where the long runtimes come from.

Beam shape

The road-specific lens combines a spot and a wide beam and adds deliberate cut-outs for side illumination, giving 240 degrees of visibility. Two XPL2 white LEDs behind it, with extra cooling fins keeping them at the temperature where they run most efficiently.

Reversible graphics are a reminder that you can mount it either way up without changing the beam pattern - useful under a computer mount or below the bars.

Charging and battery

A fast charger and USB charge cable are both in the box, along with the handlebar bracket and the wired remote switch.

Mounting

QR handlebar bracket supplied. The wired remote switch is the feature road riders keep coming back for: dim for an oncoming car without taking a hand off the bars. On the AKTiv versions it does it for you - the light senses an approaching vehicle and dims itself, no button and no thinking.
