Description
Description
The Komperdell Stiletto Expedition is a touring and trekking pole you can lengthen or shorten at the push of a button, adaptable to changing situations and slope angles. It has a titanal .HF upper, a carbon lower section that folds, and moveable ice-flex baskets that adapt to the slope.
Who it's for
Ski tourers and alpine walkers who cover changing ground in a single push. On a skin track that switches from long traverses to kick turns, or a winter walk on the Main Range where the slope flips every few hundred metres, stopping to unlock and re-set a pole every time gets old fast. Komperdell build the Stiletto Expedition for intensive touring days, with push-button length adjustment that adapts it to all situations and slope angles, and an extended grip zone for moving quickly without re-setting the pole length.
Weight against durability
Komperdell pair a titanal .HF upper section (titanal is an aluminium alloy) with a carbon lower section, and make the lower part foldable.
Locking and adjustment
Length adjustment works at the push of a button. Use it to shorten the poles for a long descent, lengthen them as the skin track steepens, or set the uphill and downhill poles to different lengths on a traverse.
Packed length
The lower section is foldable, handy when the poles need to go on your pack while you are booting up a couloir or riding a lift.
Grips and baskets
- Stiletto grip: grippy, with an extended grip zone so you can choke down on steep traverses.
- Ergo Strap: comfortable to wear, size adjusted with Velcro.
- Ice-flex baskets: a moveable basket system that adapts to the slope.
Looking after it
Dry and clean the poles after use, keep grit out of the button mechanism, and never use lubricant on the shaft or the lock. Store them dry over summer.
