How do I adjust the shoulder straps of my pack?
CamelBak packs are designed so you can easily adjust them to fit your own body type. Everyone has their own preferences, but here are some guidelines for figuring out where the pack should sit on your body: If your pack has a waist belt attached, try to set the shoulder straps so the waist belt lines up with the top of your hips. This will transfer some of the load from your hips to your waist, which means more stability and a better range of motion. If your pack has sternum straps, slide them up or town so the strap sits just above your abdomen. This will also help distribute weight more evenly across your body.
Does the pack come with a Bladder?
Absolutely! A CRUX 1.5L bladder including a valved on off switch thats super easy for kids to use.
Are there much additional storage in the pack?
Yes the pack has a zipped back pocket that's great for snacks and other small items. You can also pack things in the main compartment between the bladder and the back of the pack, which is particularly useful for small bike pumps, and other longer items.
How do I keep my Mini M.U.L.E Clean?
Keeping your CamelBak bladder clean is critical for safe hydration and longevity. Mold, bacteria, or residue can build up if neglected, affecting taste and health. A bladder cleaning kit is available here.
1. Empty and Rinse After Every use. Prevent buildup by cleaning immediately post-use.
2. Deep Clean after Sugary Drinks. For thorough cleaning, especially after using electrolytes or if you notice odors.
Fill with 1L warm water + 1 CamelBak Cleaning Tablet (or 1 tsp mild dish soap).
Let sit 5 minutes (tablets) or scrub gently with reservoir brush (avoid abrasive sponges).
Rinse thoroughly until no soap/taste remains.
3. Check for Mold: Inspect seams/corners. If spotted, soak in 1:10 white vinegar-water solution for 10 minutes, then rinse.
4. Store Properly Between Trips
Camelbak recommend ensuring bladder is 100% dry (check seams/hose) and storing open (not sealed) in a cool, dry place, ideally in a breathable bag (avoid plastic bins). Insert crumpled paper towels to absorb residual moisture. Alternatively we have always had good success simply storing the bladder in the freezer. Mold and bacteria growth is significantly slowed below zero degrees, so if you know your going to use it again soon, you could save the time of a deep clean and throw the bladder in the freezer until your next use.
