Nemo Fillo Elite Ultralight Backpacking Pillow

Who it's for

Gram counters who still want to sleep. In Nemo's line-up photo of the packed Fillo range, the Fillo Elite is the smallest bundle of the five, ahead of the Fillo Elite Luxury, Fillo, Fillo Luxury and Fillo King, which makes it the one to choose when pack space is the deciding factor. Nemo lists backpacking and ultralight backpacking as its uses.

Air, foam, or both

The Fillo Elite is an inflatable pillow: it fills and empties through a Nemo-branded valve at one corner, set into a mesh panel on the back, with soft heathered fabric on the front. Inside, a 3-inch I-beam baffled air cell holds its shape so it cradles your head rather than feeling like a balloon, with an insulation layer on top for cushion. The valve is micro-adjustable, so you can let out a little air at a time to set the firmness.

Size and loft

Nemo gives the Fillo Elite as 39 x 27 x 8 cm, shorter than the standard Fillo with the same depth, so the 8 cm of loft is the same as the full-size pillow. Choose Black Pearl or Blue Horizon.

Packed size and weight

The Fillo Elite weighs 80 g on its own and 83 g packed, and rolls down to 10 x 8 cm, smaller than a soda can. The stuff sack is built into the pillow, so it cannot go missing at camp.

Washing it

The soft recycled fabric cover comes off and is machine-washable.
