Dragonfly Bikepack Footprint

The Dragonfly Bikepack Footprint is Nemo's fitted groundsheet for the Dragonfly Bikepack OSMO tent: a tough, waterproof polyester footprint cut to the tent's floor, with webbing and buckles at the corners and a mesh bag to carry it in.

What it does

A bikepacking tent floor is built light because every gram rides on your bars. The ground you pitch on is not so considerate: the gravel pad beside a rail trail, a sandy riverbank on the Murray, a scrubby clearing on the Munda Biddi, pine needles and sticks in a state forest camp. The footprint takes that grinding so the floor of your Dragonfly Bikepack does not.

It also keeps the underside of the tent out of the mud and the morning dew. On a wet pack-up the muck goes on the footprint, which shakes out and travels in its own bag, and the tent rolls away clean.

The footprint is sized to sit under the tent without showing past the edges, so there is no lip of fabric to catch rain and funnel it under the floor.

Which tents it fits

The Dragonfly Bikepack Footprint is the footprint Nemo pairs with the Dragonfly Bikepack OSMO, the bike-specific version of the Dragonfly with shortened pole segments and a handlebar-friendly stuff sack. That is the Dragonfly Bikepack OSMO we stock, in 1 Person and 2 Person.

Match the footprint to the tent: the 1 Person footprint goes under the Dragonfly Bikepack OSMO 1 Person, and the 2 Person under the 2 Person. The standard Dragonfly OSMO backpacking tent has its own footprint.

Webbing and buckles at the corners connect the footprint to the tent, so it stays square underneath you rather than creeping overnight. Leave it clipped on and the tent and footprint pitch together next time.

Weight and packed size

The footprint folds flat and slides into a drawstring mesh bag. On a bike that means it can ride separately from the tent, in a frame bag or under a cargo cage strap, and a damp footprint dries through the mesh as you roll along instead of soaking the tent.

Looking after it

Shake the grit off before you fold it, and dry it completely at home before storing it. Take a minute to clear sharp stones and sticks from the pad before you pitch; the footprint is for the ones you missed.
