Description
Description
The Deuter Trans Alpine 22 SL is a women's bike pack for days that become trips. Multi-day alpine traverses, a long weekend of trail riding away from the car, or a big day where the weather could do anything: tools, pump, spare layers, water and a helmet all have their own place.
Who it's for
Women on multi-day mountain bike tours and big trail days. Deuter rate it top marks for both mountain biking and touring. Think a few days on the Atherton Tablelands trails, a ride through the Victorian high country between Bright and Mount Beauty, or the Munda Biddi in sections.
Capacity, and what actually fits
22 litres, split by a zip-out divider so a jacket or a light sleeping bag sits in its own bottom compartment. The front has a tool organiser and a mesh stash pocket with a buckle that also holds your helmet. A zipped side pocket carries a pump, a side pocket takes your phone, and the main compartment holds a 3 L hydration bladder. It measures 50 x 26 x 20 cm.
How it carries
Adjustable aluminium frame stays give the pack shape and transfer the load to your hips. The Airstripes back runs two padded strips with ventilation channels and breathable 3D mesh, putting air across most of your back while holding the pack snug on rough descents. Padded shoulder straps, stabiliser straps, breathable hip fins and a one-handed sternum buckle keep it locked in place.
Fitting it
SL is Deuter's women's fit, with a shorter back and a harness shaped for women. The Trans Alpine 22 SL suits back lengths of 38-48 cm, which Deuter match to riders about 158-178 cm tall. The aluminium stays can be bent to match the curve of your back for a closer fit.
