Description
The Deuter Kikki is the backpack little kids actually want to wear: a friendly dragon or rabbit on the outside, and a properly built pack underneath. It goes to kindy every day and comes along on the family bushwalk on the weekend.
Who it's for
Kids from about three years old heading to kindy, daycare or prep, and on short family walks. Deuter rate it five out of five for kindergarten. We stock the Fern Alpinegreen dragon and the Blossom Raspberry rabbit.
Capacity, and what actually fits
8 litres takes a lunchbox, a spare set of clothes, a hat and a jumper, with a drink bottle in each stretch side pocket. An elastic inner sleeve keeps wet clothes or a small water bladder away from the rest. The pack measures 35 x 20 x 17 cm.
How it carries
A light padded back with an airy mesh cover spreads the load, and S-shaped shoulder straps with soft edges curve around small shoulders without rubbing their neck. A two-way chest strap stops the straps sliding off when they run.
Fitting it
Made for back lengths of 24-30 cm, which Deuter match to children around 98-130 cm tall.
Access and organisation
- Zipped main compartment
- Two elastic side pockets for bottles
- Elastic inner compartment for wet clothes
- Straps on the front for a jacket
- Reflective name lettering and details
Weight
310 g empty, so the pack itself adds next to nothing to a little one's load.
Looking after it
The body is 600D recycled polyester, robust enough for daily kindy life, and the pack is bluepass and Green Button certified and made without intentionally added PFAS.
