1. How do I decide between Chair Zero and Chair One?
- Chair Zero is perfect for carrying on two feet. It's the lightest portable chair Helinox makes. The trade-off is some comfort – the seat lacks the mesh ventilation panels of Chair One and some people find it a little tight around the hips. Chair Zero also sits a little lower to the ground than Chair One. If you don't mind carrying the extra weight, Chair One is the perfect all-rounder. However, Chair Zero is the only way to go when weight is critical.
2. Does Chair One have a carry loop or shoulder strap?
- Chair One's bag includes a carry loop at each end. Most Chair One cases (style dependent) also feature a webbing ladder. An optional Shoulder Strap accessory can be attached to the carry loops for easy over-the-shoulder transport. When setting up the chair, the carry bag loops can be placed over the lower seat poles before attaching the seat. This means the bag won't get lost and it can be used as a handy storage compartment under the seat.
3. How much weight will Chair One support?
- Chair One supports 320 pounds or 145 kilograms.
4. How high off the ground is Chair One?
- The lowest part of Chair One's seat is approximately 10.5 inches or 27 cm off the ground.
5. Does low profile mean lower back or lower to the ground?
- At Helinox we refer to 'low profile' chairs as those that sit you closer to the ground. A lower seated height is one of the ways we save weight in models like Chair Zero and Chair One. We also offer Sunset Chair and Savanna Chair for those that prefer a higher seat.
6. How do I clean my chair's seat?
- Seats and carry bags should be hand washed in warm water using a mild detergent. Seats and carry bags are not machine washable. Ensure fabric is completely dry before packing away for storage.
7. How do I store my chair?
- Your chair should be stored in its original carry bag in a dry location. Always ensure the chair is completely dry before placing into storage. Chairs should never be stored damp or wet.
8. What's best way to fit the seat to the frame?
- Always start by fitting the seat to the upper rear poles. Then lay the chair on its back. Use your body weight to flex the lower seat poles into the pockets. Brand new seats can be a little tight but don't worry, they will stretch slightly with use.
9. What is the frame made of?
- Helinox frames are made from an advanced high-tech aluminium alloy that offers the perfect blend of strength and minimal weight. This special alloy is a higher specification than aircraft-grade aluminium and goes through over 70 production processes from raw billet to finished pole section.
10. What are the joining hubs made of?
- Hubs are made from high-strength, fibre-reinforced Nylon 66.
