Frequently Asked Questions
Both. Tailwind Endurance Fuel is a complete drink mix: each scoop has 100 calories of carbohydrate and 310 mg of sodium, so one bottle covers energy, electrolytes and fluid. Tailwind designed it to be the only fuel you carry, so you can leave the separate gels and salt tablets at home.
Raspberry and Tropical have 35 mg of caffeine per scoop, or 70 mg in a single-serve stick. Lemon, Mandarin, Berry, Grape, Dauwaltermelon and Naked are caffeine-free. Sodium is 310 mg per scoop in every flavour, so swapping flavour doesn't change your salt intake.
Tailwind's label starts at 2–3 scoops in 710 ml of water per hour for long efforts, or 1–2 scoops an hour for shorter workouts. Adjust it to taste and to how many calories you need. If you're also eating, Tailwind say to cut back on the mix.
Not at the moment. Our Tailwind range is Endurance Fuel and the vegan Fava Recovery Mix, which has 20 g of plant protein per serve. For other drink mixes and electrolytes, including Koda, Peakfuel and SaltStick, see our electrolytes page.

• Tailwind Endurance Fuel: 100 calories and 310 mg of sodium per scoop, with carbohydrate from dextrose and cane sugar. Single-serve sticks are 200 calories each, and we carry 30 and 50 serve bags plus a mixed pack of 8 sticks. It's vegan, non-GMO, and free of gluten, soy and dairy.
• Fava Recovery Mix: a vegan recovery drink with 20 g of protein from fava bean and brown rice, 34 g of carbohydrate and electrolytes per serve. Chocolate, Vanilla, Salted Caramel and Strawberry.
Choosing a Tailwind drink flavour
Six Endurance Fuel flavours have no caffeine: Lemon, Mandarin, Berry, Grape, Dauwaltermelon and the unflavoured Naked. Raspberry and Tropical have 35 mg of caffeine per scoop. Plenty of people start plain and switch to a caffeinated bottle late in the day. The Mixed Pack of 8 sticks is an easy way to find out which taste you can still drink after five hours.
Using it in Australian heat
Tailwind's label starts at 2–3 scoops in 710 ml of water per hour for long efforts, or 1–2 for shorter sessions. On hot days, Tailwind's advice is to keep the calories the same and add more water. It mixes clear with no dyes, so it suits a hydration pack bladder as well as bottles.
