Description

A women's neoprene shorty: short arms and legs in neoprene for warmth and sun protection without a full suit. Made for surfing, kayaking, stand-up paddling and anything else where you are in and out of the water all day.

Who it's for

Water too warm for a wetsuit, and races where one is not allowed. The Swimskin Shorty gives you a fast, slick surface through the water and sun cover across your shoulders and back, without the buoyancy or the warmth of neoprene.

Summer open water, non-wetsuit-legal swims, and long days where the sun does more damage than the cold.

Buoyancy and flexibility

No neoprene means no lift and no insulation - which is exactly the point. What you get is a surface that moves through water more cleanly than skin, with nothing between your shoulders and your stroke.

Getting the size right

This is the decision that makes or breaks a wetsuit, so take your time over it.

Size on body weight: XS is 46-54 kg, S is 54-61 kg, M is 60-67 kg and L is 66-74 kg.

Snug everywhere is the target, with no slack pockets at the lower back or behind the knees. Getting into it on dry land should be a wrestle - that is what correct feels like, and it lets go the moment you start swimming. Between two sizes, take the smaller one: neoprene gives with wear, and a suit that starts loose flushes water through, which is what makes you cold rather than the water itself.

Looking after it

Rinse it in fresh water after every swim to get the salt and chlorine out, and dry it in the shade. Wash it the way you would a good pair of bathers.

FAQ's

What is the temperature range the wetsuit is suitable for?
The upper temperature for the wetsuit is 24 degrees Celsius, but the lowest temperature is based on personal comfort.

Can I wear items from the triathlon apparel range for the full triathlon?
All triathlon apparel garments are designed to be worn under the wetsuit for the swim, and to be quick drying during transition onto the bike and run.For a non-wetsuit event a swimskin can be worn over the tri suit, or a tri suit can be worn on its own throughout the triathlon, but it needs to be chosen with the distance of the race in mind.

I have had a look at your wetsuit size chart but only fit the chest and weight measurements in my chosen size. I am too tall for this size, what should I do?
The most important thing to consider when fitting a wetsuit is that the suit fits correctly on your torso (shoulder to crotch). So, if you are too tall to fit into the corresponding height measurements for your weight and chest size, but you either know that you have a long or short legs or arms, then don’t worry, your core will be warm and the suit will fit you. It may be worth try some swim booties when the temperature starts to drop.

I have had a look at your wetsuit size chart but only fit in the height and weight measurement’s, but my chest is too broad/big, what should I do?
When it comes to being too broad for our size chart (but only a little bit), the best thing to do is to go for a more flexible wetsuit which accommodates your chest or shoulders better. Unfortunately, this does tend to mean spending a bit more, but a correct fitting wetsuit makes a world of difference.

What is a swimskin for?
Warm water and non-wetsuit-legal races. It gives you a slick surface and sun protection without the buoyancy or warmth of neoprene.

Will it make me float?
No, and it is not meant to. Swimskins carry no neoprene, which is why they are legal where wetsuits are not.

When should I wear it instead of a wetsuit?
When the water is too warm for neoprene, or the race rules do not allow a wetsuit.

What size am I?
Size on body weight: XS is 46-54 kg, S is 54-61 kg, M is 60-67 kg and L is 66-74 kg.

How do I wash it?
Rinse in fresh water after every swim and dry in the shade, the same way you would look after good bathers.
