Description
The Orca Thermal Fleece Parka is a mid-length change parka: a waterproof, windproof shell on the outside and a thick fleece lining on the inside. It goes on over a wetsuit or wet swimmers the moment you leave the water, and stays on until you are warm again.
Who it's for
Open water swimmers, surfers and triathletes who are out early and out in winter. Picture a July dawn swim, a southerly on the beach and a walk back to your towel with wet hair. This is the layer you throw on for that walk, and the one you stand around in at a race start while you wait for your wave.

Fit and layering
The cut is long and roomy, with a hood and wide sleeves, so it slides on over a wetsuit without a fight and gives you room to get changed underneath. We carry it in S, M and L. If you plan to wear it over a thick winter wetsuit or a bulky jumper, we'd go for the roomier of the two sizes you are choosing between.
Fabric and construction
- Waterproof, windproof outer fabric that also stands up to abrasion, so sand, rocks and boat ramps do not chew it up.
- Fleece lining that traps a layer of warm air against you and takes the sting out of a wet wetsuit.
- Two outside pockets with waterproof zips, plus an inside pocket for keys and a phone.
- Full-length front zip and a hood.
- Polyester throughout.
