Description

The Komperdell Regular UL Iceflake FXP Basket is a regular-size winter basket for Komperdell's ice-flex system on FXP poles. It gives the pole more flotation in powder snow, and because it moves with the ice-flex tip it adjusts 28 degrees to the slope. One card carries baskets for a pair of poles.

What it does

In soft snow a small trekking basket punches straight through, and you lose the push you were relying on. The Iceflake's open star-shaped frame spreads each plant across a wider footprint so the pole holds near the surface. On a sidehill or a steep slope the basket tilts with the ice-flex tip, up to 28 degrees, so it sits flatter against the slope instead of digging in on its edge.

Which poles it fits

This is the FXP version of Komperdell's Regular UL Iceflake basket, made for the ice-flex system on Komperdell FXP poles. Swap it on when your poles head onto snow, and the same pair of poles is ready for powder.
