Description

The Lezyne KTV Drive / KTV Drive+ Pair is a small, light set of safety lights: a two-LED KTV Drive at the front and a KTV Drive+ at the back, each with a co-molded rubber body, an IPX7 rating and a USB stick built into the light, so charging needs no cable at all.

Who it's for

Commuters and road riders who want to be seen rather than to light up the road ahead. Think the run home along the Brisbane River after daylight saving ends, or a dawn bunch ride on the Gold Coast Highway where a flashing front and rear make you obvious to drivers. For unlit trails or bush roads you need a far brighter front light; this set is about being noticed.

Brightness and runtime together

KTV Drive front (five modes): Day Flash at 200 lumens, a 70-lumen Blast, a 15-lumen steady mode, and two flash modes at 30 and 15 lumens. Day Flash is the one to use in daylight, when you want to be picked out against glare and traffic.

KTV Drive+ rear (six modes):

  • Day Flash: 40 lumens, 12 h
  • Blast: 20 lumens, 2 h 30 min
  • Pulse: 20 lumens, 5 h
  • Flash 1: 20 lumens, 9 h
  • Economy: 5 lumens, 10 h
  • Femto: 5 lumens, 45 h

Femto sips power, so it is the mode to leave running as a backup on a long day or across several commutes.

Beam shape

The rear light uses Lezyne's Wide-Angle Optics to spread its glow through 270 degrees, so drivers coming from the side see you at intersections as well as from behind. The front is a compact two-LED light designed to be seen by others rather than to throw a beam down a dark road.

Charging and battery

Each light carries a 400 mAh battery and a USB stick built into the body. Plug the light straight into a laptop or USB charger at work and it is topped up for the ride home, with no cable to forget.

Mounting

The front straps around the handlebar and the rear straps around the seatpost; the KTV Drive+ is designed to fit both round and aero seatposts. Both go on and come off by hand, so they can come inside with you when the bike is locked up.

Weather resistance

Both lights are IPX7 rated and built with co-molded rubber bodies, so a Queensland summer storm on the way home is nothing to worry about.
