Description
The Orca Killa Hydro Swimming Goggles are built for training: a low, hydrodynamic frame that slips through the water stroke after stroke, a long-lasting anti-fog coating, and three nose bridges you swap until the seal is right for your face. They are the goggles for the swimmer racking up kilometres every week, in the pool or out at the beach.
Fit and seal
No two faces are the same distance between the eyes, which is why the Killa Hydro comes with a kit of three interchangeable nose bridges in different sizes. Start with the middle one, press the goggles to your eyes without the strap and they should hold on by suction for a second; if they do not, try a narrower or wider bridge. The ergonomic eye cups sit close to the face and spread the pressure around the eye, which your face will thank you for at the end of a long squad set. A double silicone strap holds them steady at the back of your head.
Lens and vision
Orca made the Killa Hydro with lenses for different conditions, and we stock two:
- Smoke Black: a grey tint that takes the edge off glare, for everyday indoor and outdoor sessions
- Mirror Black: a mirrored lens for bright outdoor pools and sunny mornings in the ocean
Fogging
Nothing spoils a set like losing sight of the wall. The Killa Hydro has a long-lasting anti-fog coating on the inside of the lenses, so you can see the black line and the swimmer in front of you right to the end of the set. Look after the coating by never wiping or rubbing the inside of the lenses.
What comes with it
The goggles come with the interchangeable nose bridge kit: three sizes in the box, so the fit can be adjusted rather than put up with.
Looking after it
Rinse the goggles in fresh water after each swim to get chlorine or salt off, shake them dry and let them air out of direct sun. Keep them in a case or a soft pouch in your swim bag so the lenses do not get scratched.
