Exposure Diablo Mk15 Gun Metal Black with Helmet & HB mount & USB-C Charging
Description
Description
The Exposure Diablo Mk15 is a 118 g helmet light for night mountain biking, putting out 2000 lumens through a 12 degree spot beam. It holds full power for an hour, stretches to 36 hours on its lowest program, recharges over USB-C in just over two hours and mounts through a helmet vent, including MIPS Essential, Evolve and Air Node helmets.
Who it's for
A helmet light goes where you look, which is exactly where a bar light cannot: around the next switchback, up the line on a technical climb, into the corner before the bike turns. The Diablo is Exposure's most popular helmet light, and the Mk15 pairs naturally with a bar light on night laps at Mt Stromlo, Smithfield or the Nerang trails, and for 24-hour racing where every gram on your head counts over a long night. It weighs 118 g.
Brightness and runtime together
The Diablo Mk15 holds its full 2000 lumens for one hour and runs as long as 36 hours on its most frugal setting. Six lighting programs, each with two or three modes, let you match output to ride length, because doubling the runtime halves the brightness. Out of the box it is set to program 4, which gives you maximum output on high and six hours on low. A flash mode runs for more than 24 hours, and program 6 swaps flash for an SOS signal.
Beam shape
Three white LEDs feed a 12 degree spot beam that Exposure has tried and tested for over five years. On the helmet it points wherever you look, which complements a handlebar light.
Charging and battery
The 4,000 mAh lithium-ion battery charges over USB-C in about 2 hours 5 minutes from empty, runs from most modern power banks, and the light keeps working while it charges. A traffic-light indicator shows remaining battery while the light is on, and one press with the light off shows it for five seconds.
Mounting
The helmet mount passes through a vent and screws in place, with two bolt lengths to suit helmets 22 to 40 mm thick. It works with MIPS Essential, Evolve and Air Node helmets, but not MIPS Spherical or Integra and Integra Split. The mount has an action camera interface, so it can be removed and attached to other GoPro-compatible mounts, and the nylon centre bolt acts as a designed fracture point in an impact. Turn on TAP and you can change modes by tapping the light or helmet instead of finding the rear button with a gloved hand.
Weather resistance
The CNC-machined 6063 aluminium body is hard anodised and rated IP67 for water ingress and IK09 for impact, built to handle the toughest trails and harshest conditions.
