Description
The Distance LT 1100 is Black Diamond's light, low-bounce head torch for fast days on foot, with a pivoting lamp, a tap-to-boost 1100-lumen mode and a battery you can swap without stopping.
Who it's for
Trail runners and endurance athletes whose day starts before sunrise and ends after dark. Black Diamond keeps the battery housing fixed flat against the headband and lets only the slim lamp pivot, so the weight sits close to your head and the light stays put when you run. The suspended, low-profile headband spreads the load, and the strap can be removed and swapped.
Brightness and runtime together
- PowerTap: 1100 lumens, 125 m. Tap the side to boost; it drops back after 10 seconds to save battery.
- High: 600 lumens, 110 m, 4.25 hours, then 3 hours of reserve light.
- Medium: 300 lumens, 58 m, 14 hours, then 7 hours of reserve.
- Low: 7 lumens, 8 m, 120 hours.
Runtimes are to the ANSI FL-1 standard (time to 10% of starting output). Reserve is the extra low-level light after that, enough for low-intensity tasks.
Beam shape
A multifaceted lens mixes a focused beam for seeing down the trail with a wide, diffuse spread around your feet, and Black Diamond tunes it to keep depth perception as you dim. A three-colour RGB LED adds a red night mode, and there are strobe and SOS settings for emergencies.
Charging and battery
The 2200 mAh lithium-ion pack charges by USB-C in about 4 hours and slides out of the housing, so you can carry a charged spare and swap it on the move. A battery indicator shows how much charge is left, and the Digital Lock stops the light switching on in your pack.
Weather resistance
Rated IP67: dustproof and waterproof to immersion at 1 m for 30 minutes. Black Diamond covers it with a three-year warranty.
