No. WOOLXLOFT is traceable Australian wool from a farm in Victoria, described by XTM as coarse wool, blended with polyester: 60% wool in the jackets and coat, 85% wool in the vests. For merino, look at XTM's thermals and the Merino Aero Grid Fleece.
No. The recycled polyester shell is water repellent, with a PFAS-free DWR finish that sheds light rain and snow flurries. Wool keeps its warmth when damp, so a passing shower is no drama, but for a day of steady rain or a ski day, wear a waterproof shell over the top.
It is machine washable. Do up the zips, wash cold on a delicate cycle and leave out fabric softener and bleach. Line dry rather than tumble drying, and never iron or dry clean it. Let it dry fully before you put it away.
How WoolXLoft is made
The jackets and coat carry 200 g of WOOLXLOFT fill, 60% coarse wool and 40% polyester. The vests carry 170 g of a wool-rich 85% wool, 15% polyester blend. Shell and lining are 100% recycled polyester with a PFAS-free DWR finish that sheds light rain and snow flurries, and every piece is a certified carbon neutral product. In steady rain, wear a waterproof shell over the top. The fabric is quiet too, without the rustle of a typical puffer, and the wool also resists odour on a multi-day trip.How WoolXLoft is made

• Womens Coat: longline, 84 cm back length on a size 10, insulated hood and two-way zip, sizes 8 to 18.
• Womens Jacket: hooded puffer in Black, Bone or Light Khaki, about 610 g, sizes 8 to 18.
• Mens Jacket: hooded puffer in Black or Slate Blue, about 706 g, sizes S to 3XL.
• Vests: the Mens Vest in S to 3XL and the Womens Vest in 8 to 18.
