Woolxloft Mens Jacket

XTM Performance Woolxloft men's jacket is a hooded puffer insulated with 200 g WOOLXLOFT, a fill of 60% coarse wool and 40% polyester. Shell and lining are 100% recycled polyester with a PFAS-free DWR finish. Insulated storm-proof hood, high collar, two zipped hand pockets, two internal dump pockets and a regular fit, in sizes S to 3XL and two colours: Black and Slate Blue.

Who it's for

The man who wants one warm jacket for the whole of winter, from a frosty morning at a Snowy Mountains campsite to a Friday night in Melbourne. Pull it on for the dawn start at Charlotte Pass, a first-light fish on Lake Eucumbene, or the walk back to camp after dark when the frost is already settling. Wool insulation keeps its warmth when damp, so drizzle, spray or wet snow does not leave you cold.

Wool breathes and moves moisture as well, so the jacket stays comfortable when you are walking hard and when you duck into the pub afterwards.

Waterproofing and breathability

The recycled outer is water repellent, with a PFAS-free DWR finish that shrugs off showers and light rain. For a day of steady rain, throw a waterproof shell over the top and the wool keeps you warm underneath.

Fit and layering

Regular fit: neither slim nor relaxed, following the shape of the body with ease added for movement and space for a fleece or thermal underneath. The back length is 77 cm on a size L, and the model in the photos is 182 cm tall wearing a size L.

Fabric and construction

WOOLXLOFT is traceable Australian wool insulation, sourced from a farm in Victoria. This jacket carries 200 g of it, blended 60% coarse wool with 40% polyester, and the wool resists odour on a multi-day trip. Main body and lining are both 100% recycled polyester, and the jacket is a certified carbon neutral product.

Packability and weight

Average weight is 706 g for a full hooded winter jacket, light enough to live in the pack on a cold-weather walk and come out at every rest stop.

Care

Machine washable. Do up the zips, wash cold on a delicate cycle, and leave out fabric softener and bleach. Hang it to dry rather than tumble drying, and never iron or dry clean it.
