Frequently Asked Questions
The hiking shirts are 100% superfine Australian merino, in short and long sleeve. The thermal tops and bottoms are 95% Australian merino with 5% elastane for stretch. The leggings are 71% Australian merino, 24% nylon for strength and 5% elastane, and the neck gaiter and hand covers are merino with 5% elastane.
The short and long sleeve hiking shirts are 165 gsm, a light everyday weight you can wear on its own or layer under a jacket. The thermal tops and bottoms are heavier at 210 gsm and 18.4 micron. The leggings are the thickest piece at 330 gsm.
They are cut a little longer than a standard tee so they stay tucked under a pack, with a relaxed fit rather than a tight athletic cut. Men's sizes run S to 3XL and women's XS to 3XL. The thermals are close-fitting with a touch of stretch, made to sit under other layers.

Which weight to choose
The 165 gsm shirts are the everyday layer: warm when it's cool, breathable when it's not, and odour-resistant enough to wear again the next day. The 210 gsm thermals are close-fitting and stretchy, for cold starts, sleeping at camp and wearing under a shell. At 330 gsm, the leggings are thick enough to wear on their own.
On the track in Australia
A merino shirt earns its place on a multi-day walk: on the Overland Track or the Larapinta you can wear one shirt for days without it smelling. In winter, pull the thermal top on at camp, then add the neck gaiter for a frosty chairlift at Falls Creek. The hand covers leave your fingers free for zips and a camera on a cold dawn.
