Description
The Lezyne V Pro is a black bike multi-tool: long machined steel bits treated with Lezyne's Black Anti-Corrosion technology, held between machined aluminium side plates anodised black. Lezyne designs and builds it in-house, and we carry the V Pro 7 for the everyday adjustments and the V Pro 11 for riders who want every common hex and Torx size in one tool.
What it actually does
V Pro 7: hex keys in 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm, Torx T10 and T25, and a Phillips head. Enough for saddle height, a slipping stem, a loose bottle cage, cleats and disc rotor bolts on the side of the road.
V Pro 11: hex keys in 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 mm, Torx T10, T25 and T30, and a Phillips head. The small hex sizes reach derailleur limit screws and brake lever reach adjusters, and the 8 mm and T30 handle the bigger bolts found on cranks and many mountain bike fittings. Neither V Pro carries a chain breaker or tyre levers, so a quick link and a pair of levers in the same bag round out the kit.
Size, weight and carrying
- V Pro 7: 63 g, 63 x 26.6 x 10.9 mm
- V Pro 11: 93 g, 65 x 43.9 x 19.5 mm
The V Pro 7 is under 11 mm thick and sits flat in a jersey pocket on a Sunday road loop around the Gold Coast hinterland. The V Pro 11 is a little chunkier and lives happily in a saddle bag or the tool pocket of a hydration pack for a day on the trails at Mount Coot-tha.
Build quality
The V Pro's bits are longer than earlier Lezyne versions, so they reach into recessed bolts without the side plates fouling on the frame. Black Anti-Corrosion technology protects the steel against sweat and wet weather, and the machined aluminium plates are anodised black, which keeps the tool feeling solid and comfortable when you put some force through a stuck bolt.
