Tubeless CO2 Blaster - Head only

The Lezyne Tubeless CO2 Blaster is a 2-in-1 tubeless plug tool and CO2 inflation system that pushes a plug into a puncture and inflates the tyre through the same tool. The Tubeless CO2 Blaster is machined aluminium, weighs 58 g, and stores five plugs and its steel reamer in the handle. This head-only kit comes without CO2 cartridges.

Who it's for

This is the roadside and trailside fix for anyone running tubeless: mountain bikers on the rocky trails of Nerang or Mount Joyce, gravel riders on the sharp country roads of the Scenic Rim, and roadies who would rather not wrestle a tube in at the side of the road. When a thorn or a sharp rock opens a hole too big for your sealant to close, the CO2 Blaster plugs it and gets air back in, in one quick repair.

Pressure and volume

CO2 does the pumping, so there are no strokes to count. A CNC-machined twist knob gives you manual control over the release of CO2, so you can stop when the tyre feels right, then finish with a pump or a gauge at the trailhead if you like exact pressure. How far one cartridge goes depends on its size and your tyre's volume: a big mountain bike tyre wants more gas than a narrow road tyre, so carry a cartridge sized for what you ride.

Valve compatibility

The repair happens at the hole, not the valve. Pull out whatever caused the puncture, scour the hole with the hardened steel reamer, load a plug, then push the tool into the tyre and twist the knob: the CO2 goes in through the tool as the plug seats. Pull the tool out and the plug stays behind to seal it. There is no tyre to take off and no tube to fit, so you are rolling again quickly.

What is in the kit

You get the head with its combined reamer and insertion tool, the aluminium storage canister, five tyre plugs and a Velcro strap. The canister stores the plugs and the reamer, then doubles as the handle when you need grip to push a plug home. At 90 x 35 x 25.5 mm it slips into a jersey pocket or straps to the frame. This is the head-only kit: add your own CO2 cartridges.

Looking after it

Restock plugs after you use one, so there are always spares in the canister. Wipe sealant off the reamer before putting it away, check the strap holds the kit firmly on the frame before a rough ride, and keep a cartridge with it so it is ready when you need it.
