Description
Description
The Sea to Summit TPU Guide Map Case is a clear, welded map case made from PVC-free TPU with a press-lock closure, rated IPX8 waterproof to 10 m for 1 hour. It folds into a pocket without cracking, stays clear in sun and freezing cold, and comes in Small, Medium and Large with a detachable neck strap.
What it is
A waterproof map case: a see-through TPU sleeve with a nylon top and bottom edge, a sealing press-lock opening and an eyelet in each corner.
Who it's for
Paddlers, bushwalkers and orienteers who navigate off paper and need that paper to survive the day. Strap it to the deck of a sea kayak on Moreton Bay, hang it round your neck through a wet week in south-west Tasmania, or fold it into a jacket pocket on a misty ridge in the Blue Mountains. It also keeps a permit, a phone or trip notes dry. If you only ever navigate by phone or GPS, you will not need one.
Key details
- Waterproof rating: IPX8, tested to 10 m for 1 hour, and dust-proof. Every case is individually tested.
- Construction: welded seams with no stitching, so there are no needle holes for water to find, and a strong press-lock closure across the top.
- Material: PVC-free TPU window with nylon fabric ends. It flexes and creases without cracking, resists abrasion, and stays clear in UV and freezing temperatures.
- Carrying: a detachable neck strap and an anchor point at each corner for lashing it to a deck, a pack or a map board.
- Weight: 78 g for the Medium and 102 g for the Large.
- Sizes: Small, Medium and Large. Pick the size that fits the map you fold to, with a margin for the closure.
Looking after it
Rinse it in fresh water after a salty paddle and let it dry with the closure open, so no damp gets trapped inside with your next map. Store it flat or loosely rolled; it can be folded, but it lasts longest without a hard crease left in the same place for months.
