Description

The Lezyne SV Pro is a compact bike multi-tool built from high-grade stainless steel bits held between machined aluminium side plates. Lezyne designs and makes the SV Pro in-house, and we stock two versions: the pocket-sized SV Pro 7 for everyday adjustments, and the SV Pro 13 that also fixes a broken chain.

What it actually does

SV Pro 7: hex keys in 3, 4, 5 and 6 mm, Torx T10 and T25, and a Phillips head. Those seven bits reach stem bolts, seat post clamps, bottle cages, cleats and disc rotor bolts, the jobs that come up on a normal ride.

SV Pro 13: hex keys in 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8 mm, Torx T10, T25 and T30, a Phillips head, a chain breaker and a spot to store a spare quick link. The 8 mm hex and T30 cover crank bolts and the bigger fittings on many mountain bikes, and the chain breaker turns a snapped chain on the back half of a long loop into a short roadside stop instead of a long walk out. Neither model carries tyre levers, so pack a pair with it.

Size, weight and carrying

  • SV Pro 7: 63 g, 63 x 26.5 x 11 mm
  • SV Pro 13: 116 g, 65 x 45.8 x 20 mm

The SV Pro 7 is barely thicker than a key and disappears in a jersey pocket, which suits road riders heading out for a few hours around the hinterland. The SV Pro 13 is wider to fit the chain tool, and rides comfortably in a saddle bag, frame bag or the tool sleeve of a hydration pack on a day in the Brisbane Valley or the high country.

Build quality

Every bit on the SV Pro is machined from high-grade stainless steel, so sweat, river crossings and salt air on a coastal ride are far less of a worry than they are with plain steel bits. The side plates are machined aluminium, shaped so the tool sits comfortably in your palm when you lean on a tight bolt, and the whole tool is kept as compact as the bits allow.

Looking after it

Rinse off mud and grit after a dirty ride, dry the SV Pro before it goes back in the bag, and nip up the pivot bolts now and then if the bits start to feel loose in the plates.

FAQ's

What is the difference between the Lezyne SV Pro 7 and SV Pro 13?
The Lezyne SV Pro 7 has 3 to 6 mm hex keys, Torx T10 and T25 and a Phillips. The SV Pro 13 adds 2, 2.5 and 8 mm hex keys, a Torx T30, a chain breaker and quick-link storage.

Does the Lezyne SV Pro 13 have a chain breaker?
Yes. The Lezyne SV Pro 13 has a chain breaker and somewhere to store a spare quick link, so a broken chain can be fixed on the trail. The SV Pro 7 does not have a chain tool.

How much does the Lezyne SV Pro multi-tool weigh?
The Lezyne SV Pro 7 weighs 63 g and measures 63 x 26.5 x 11 mm. The Lezyne SV Pro 13 weighs 116 g and measures 65 x 45.8 x 20 mm.

Will the Lezyne SV Pro rust?
The Lezyne SV Pro uses bits machined from high-grade stainless steel and machined aluminium side plates, chosen so the tool stands up to sweat, rain and salt air. Drying it after a wet ride keeps the pivots smooth.

Does the Lezyne SV Pro have Torx bits for disc rotors?
Yes. Both the Lezyne SV Pro 7 and SV Pro 13 carry a Torx T25, the size used on most six-bolt disc rotors, along with a T10. The SV Pro 13 also has a T30.

Which Lezyne SV Pro fits in a jersey pocket?
The Lezyne SV Pro 7 is the jersey-pocket tool at 63 g and 11 mm thick. The SV Pro 13 is 20 mm thick and 116 g, and sits better in a saddle bag or frame bag.
