Description
The XTM Performance Styx is a unisex three-layer waterproof rain pant, rated 15,000 mm waterproof and 10,000 g/m² breathable with fully sealed seams. The shell is 100% recycled polyester with a PFAS-free DWR finish. Articulated knees, lower leg zips, reinforced cuffs and an adjustable elastic waist, in a regular fit and sizes XS to 4XL.
Who it's for
Walkers, campers and commuters who expect to be out in the rain for hours. This is the pant for the days when the forecast for south-west Tasmania says rain and means it, for a week on the Overland Track in shoulder season, for sleet on the Main Range, or for a winter of wet rides to work. The Styx is windproof too, so it earns its place on a cold, exposed ridge even when the rain holds off.
Waterproofing and breathability
XTM's HydroVENT15+ fabric is rated 15,000 mm waterproof and 10,000 g/m² breathable. Every seam is sealed, so water has no stitch line to work through, and the PFAS-free DWR finish makes rain bead and run off the face of the fabric. The breathability rating is what keeps you from soaking yourself from the inside on a long climb.
Fit and layering
Regular fit with ease added for movement, cut to go over walking trousers or thermals. Articulated knees bend with you on steep steps and scrambles. Lower leg zips open the hem wide to help the pant on and off, and the adjustable elastic waist holds it in place under a pack hip belt. The inleg is 81 cm on a size L.

Fabric and construction
A three-layer shell bonds the outer fabric, the waterproof layer and an inner lining into one piece, so there is no loose liner to snag or cling to damp legs. The shell is 100% recycled polyester, the water-repellent finish is PFAS-free, and the cuffs are reinforced where boots and scrub wear a rain pant out first. The Styx is a certified carbon neutral product.
Packability and weight
Average weight is 397 g: a three-layer pant you can carry all week and barely register in the pack.
Care
Rinse off mud and wash gently, following the care label. Hang them to dry fully before you pack them away. When rain stops beading on the surface, a wash and a fresh DWR treatment brings the finish back.
