Description
Description
The Orca Safety Buoy is a compact 9-litre tow float in high-visibility orange: a visibility and storage accessory for open-water swimmers. It sits on an adjustable strap and helps keep you visible while you swim, and its watertight compartment closes with a clip so you can securely store your keys and other belongings.
What it is
A compact float that sits on the surface with you as you swim. Orca built it as a scaled-down version of its earlier buoys, so at 9 litres its small size lets you swim without restrictions, while its high-visibility orange lets you be seen even from a long distance or on cloudy days. The watertight compartment closes with a clip to store your items securely.
Who it's for
Swimmers heading out beyond the flags or into open water: early squads around Currumbin Alley, lake sessions at Hinze Dam, triathletes logging open-water kilometres before race day, and anyone who wants their car key along instead of hidden under a towel. It is a visibility and storage aid, not a lifejacket, so swim within your ability and with a buddy where you can.
Key details
- Volume: 9 litres, a small size for swimming without restrictions.
- High-visibility orange so you are easy to see from a distance and on grey days.
- Watertight compartment with a clip closure.
- Adjustable strap that adapts to your body so the buoy stays put.
- Construction: 85 % TPU and 15 % polyamide (nylon).
Looking after it
Rinse the buoy in fresh water after every ocean or lake swim, leave the compartment open so the inside dries, and store it out of the sun once it is dry. Keys and other sharp items are best carried in a small pouch inside the compartment so they cannot wear the TPU.
