Rush 8L Bike Hydration Vest

The USWE Rush 8L is a mountain bike and gravel hydration vest that carries its load like a well-cut jersey: 2 litres of water on your back, five pockets on your chest, and a harness that does not shift when the trail gets rough.

Who it's for

Riders who eat and drink on the move and do not want to stop to do it. A long gravel day through the Scenic Rim, a cross-country race at Nerang, a multi-day stage race, or a bikepacking trip where the next shop is a long way off. The vest is built for mountain biking and gravel, and the same NDM Vest system works for trail running if you want a bigger load than a running vest carries.

Capacity and fit

The Rush holds 8 litres in total, including a 2.0 litre Elite bladder, and weighs 318 g before you fill it. The bladder rides in a compression sleeve inside the main compartment, which keeps it and a spare layer from sloshing about. A zippered mesh pocket at the lower back takes a spare tube, a mini pump and your tools, and five quick-access pockets on the front carry gels, bars, your phone and keys.

Fit is everything on a vest, and the Rush comes in real sizes. By chest circumference: SM 80-92 cm, MD 86-98 cm, LG 92-104 cm and XL 104-116 cm. Measure over the jersey you ride in. Elastic side panels stretch as your chest expands on a climb, and elastic drawcords in the side panels fine-tune the fit so the vest sits snug without squeezing. Spacer mesh and elastic breathable mesh keep air moving. The vest measures 45 x 40 x 5 cm.

Drinking and refilling

The Elite bladder is made by HydraPak and joins the drink tube with a Plug-N-Play coupling, so the tube unplugs when you pull the bladder out to refill. The NDM Buckle closes with one hand, even in full-finger gloves, and the low-profile neck sits flat under a neck brace. Reflective points front and back, plus an attachment point for a bike light, help you get seen on a dawn start.

Cleaning and mould

Rinse the bladder with warm water after every ride and hang it to dry with the opening facing down. If you carried an electrolyte mix, add a drop of dish soap to the rinse. A bladder that drains and dries fully is a bladder that stays clean.
