Riff (30°F / -1°C) Endless Promise Womens Sleeping Bag

The Riff is Nemo's 800 fill-power down three-season women's sleeping bag, cut in their Spoon shape - wider at the elbows and knees for side sleepers, trim everywhere else so it packs small. Part of the Endless Promise range, built to be sent back and recycled at the end of its life.

Who it's for

Women walking long distances who refuse to give up sleeping on their side. The Riff is the light one - 1 kg with 800 fill-power down - and it still gives you room at the elbows and knees.

Comfortable to -1°C, which covers shoulder season in the high country and most nights you will meet on an Australian multi-day walk.

Understanding the temperature rating

Two numbers matter, and the one to buy on is comfort. Comfort at -1°C is the temperature you stay warm through the night. Limit at -7°C is where a warm sleeper is curled up and holding on until morning. Plan your trips around the comfort figure and you will sleep; plan them around the limit and you will spend the night awake doing sums.

Both are ISO tested, so they compare directly against any other bag quoting the same standard - which makes them the only honest way to line two bags up against each other.

Shape and room

Spoon shape - wide where you move, tapered where you need the warmth. Thermo Gill vents let you shed heat on a mild night without opening the bag up.

Down or synthetic here

800 fill-power down, 455 g in the Regular, with extra insulation through the footbox and torso. Higher fill power is what keeps a warm women's bag under a kilo.

Weight and packed size

1 kg minimum weight in the Regular, compressing to 5.7 litres at 26 x 18 cm.

Regular fits to 168 cm, Long to 183 cm.
