Description
The XTM Performance Radiator is a GORE-TEX snow mitt, the mitten alternative to a ski glove, built for cold hands, with 330 g of Hi-Loft insulation over the back of the hand and 116 g in the palm. The shell is 80% polyester microfibre and 20% goat skin leather, with an A grade goat skin leather palm, a plush lining and a GORE-TEX waterproof breathable insert with Gore Warm technology. Unisex sizes XS to XL, in Black, Dark Plum or Sky Blue.
Who it's for
Anyone whose fingers go white on the first chairlift of the day. A mitt keeps your fingers together in one pocket of warm air, and the Radiator fills that pocket with a thick layer of Hi-Loft fill. It suits cold mornings at Falls Creek and Perisher, night skiing, long waits for a lesson group, and snowboarders who spend time sitting in the snow. If you run warm and want to work zips and buckles all day, a five-finger glove will suit you better.
Waterproofing and breathability
A GORE-TEX insert with Gore Warm technology sits between the shell and the lining to keep you dry. It is the version of GORE-TEX made for warmth, which is exactly what this mitt is about.
Fit and layering
The low-profile cuff is designed to slide under your jacket sleeve, with an ergonomic velcro cuff. Touch screen compatibility means you can still answer a call or check the trail map with the mitt on.
- Unisex sizes XS, S, M, L and XL in Black and Dark Plum; S and M in Sky Blue
- Low-profile cuff with ergonomic velcro closure
- Touch screen compatible
Fabric and construction
The shell blends 80% polyester microfibre with 20% high performance goat skin leather, and the palm is A grade goat skin leather. Inside, 330 g of Hi-Loft extreme warmth insulation covers the back of the hand, with 116 g in the palm and a plush lining against your skin. The Radiator is a certified carbon neutral product.
Looking after it
A Nikwax leather treatment sachet comes in the box: work it into the leather before your first trip and again when the palm starts to look dry. Dry the mitts slowly at room temperature, away from heaters and open fires.
