XTM Performance Patrol is a GORE-TEX snow trigger mitt: thumb and index finger free, the other three fingers together. The shell is 80% goat skin leather and 20% softshell, over a GORE-TEX waterproof breathable insert and 180 g of MerinoLite wool insulation. Unisex sizes 2XS to 2XL, in black.

With your index finger free you can work a binding, grip a pole, tighten a boot buckle and unzip a pocket on the chairlift at Perisher, while your other three fingers share their heat like they do in a full mitt.

Waterproofing and breathability

A GORE-TEX insert sits between the shell and the lining. It keeps melting snow and rain out, and lets the sweat from a hard run escape, so your hands are dry at the top of the lift and dry again at the bottom.

Fit and layering

Unisex sizing across seven sizes, so smaller and larger hands are both covered. The wrist is elasticised to sit close, and a low-profile velcro cuff closes over or under your jacket sleeve without snagging. The fingertips are touch screen compatible.

The shell is 80% goat skin leather with 20% softshell where the mitt needs to flex. The palm is goat skin digital leather, reinforced for grip and durability on poles, edges and rope tows, and the fingers are stitched externally for a cleaner feel inside. Insulation is 180 g MerinoLite, a natural wool fill, behind a soft tricot lining. The mitt is a certified carbon neutral product.

Looking after it

Leather lasts when it dries slowly. After a day on snow, let the mitts dry at room temperature, away from the heater or fire, and treat the leather with a conditioner when it starts to look dry.
