Description
The USWE Outlander XC is a stripped-back race hydration pack for gravel and MTB - minimal carrying, minimal weight, and the no-dancing harness that keeps it still on your back when you are moving fast.
Who it's for
Gravel and mountain bike racing, and fast rides where speed matters more than carrying capacity. The Outlander XC is built around one decision: bring hydration and a few essentials, leave everything else.
Capacity and fit
Three sizes, and the choice is genuinely about the kind of riding you do. The 2 L at 290 g and 30 x 15 x 12 cm is barely a pack - water, a phone, a tube. The 10 L at 430 g and 42 x 20 x 13 cm takes a jacket, tools and food. The 4 L sits between them. All three carry the same 1.5 L Elite bladder, so the size you pick changes your cargo space, not your water.
The award-winning patented NDM 1.0 four-point harness makes the pack 100% bounce free in action, and the stretchy harness lets it sit tight while still giving you room to breathe and move.
Drinking and refilling
The 1.5 L Elite bladder uses a fixed tube coupling - one fewer connection to leak or come apart mid-race, which is the right trade on a pack this minimal.
Cleaning and mould
Empty and dry the bladder after each ride with the opening propped open. Reservoirs are killed by being put away wet, not by use.
