Description
The USWE Outlander Moto 4L is the pack for riders who want as much water as possible and as little pack as possible. It carries a full three-litre bladder in a narrow body that runs down your spine, weighs 340 g empty, and the harness keeps it there when you are standing on the pegs.
Who it's for
Enduro and hard enduro racers, rally and dual sport riders, and trail riders heading out on hot days. A long, dry loop in the Watagans in January, a desert-style rally stage, or an all-day enduro where the pits are an hour apart: that is where three litres and a slim pack pay off. If you need more gear storage, step up to the Outlander Moto 9L.
Capacity and fit
The pack holds a 3.0 litre Elite bladder and has 4 litres of total volume, enough for the bladder plus tools, a snack and your phone. It measures 40 x 17 x 11 cm. The No Dancing Monkey 4-point harness wraps the pack to your torso with elastic straps that stretch as you breathe but do not let it shift, and it goes on over a chest protector. It is unisex and suits chests from 84 to 110 cm. The pack is compatible with USWE's NDM accessories, such as chest pockets and phone pouches, if you want more within reach.
Drinking and refilling
The Elite bladder is made by HydraPak. Its Slide-Seal top makes refills fast at a fuel stop or checkpoint, though the pack has to come off to refill. The drink tube uses a fixed coupling, and clips hold it to the harness straps so it does not flap about at speed.
Cleaning and mould
The Elite bladder turns inside out like a sock. Reverse it, put it through the dishwasher or wash it with mild soapy water, and let it dry completely while reversed.
Looking after it
Empty the pack after each ride and brush the dirt off with soapy water. Hand wash only: a washing machine or dryer damages the PU coating. Keep the zips clean, and store the pack closed in a dry spot.
