Description
The USWE Moto Hydro 3L is the race-weight dirt bike hydration pack: two litres of water, room for your phone and a few essentials, and a harness that stays put when the track turns to whoops and ruts. It weighs 458 g before you fill it, and the organiser pocket pops off when you want to go lighter still.
Who it's for
Enduro racers, trail riders and anyone doing fast laps on an off-road motorcycle. Think a summer enduro round where you cannot stop at every drink station, or a morning loop through the pine forests where the water tap is back at the trailer. If you want water and a few essentials without a bulky pack on your back, this is the size.
Capacity and fit
The pack has a total volume of 3 litres, comes with a 2.0 litre Elite bladder, and measures 31 x 16 x 8 cm. The detachable organiser pocket pops off for a lighter race set-up. Inside the main compartment there is a water-resistant pocket for your phone. Ventilated shoulder straps and back panel improve airflow.
The No Dancing Monkey 1.2 harness uses elastic straps that give a tight fit while leaving you the freedom to breathe and move, and the NDM buckle gives a more secure closure. It is unisex and fits chests from 84 to 110 cm. Set the horizontal chest straps first, choosing the larger or smaller setting with the two d-rings, then adjust the vertical straps so the centre buckle sits around your solar plexus.
Drinking and refilling
The Elite bladder is made by HydraPak and has USWE's Plug-N-Play coupling for the drink tube.
Cleaning and mould
The Elite bladder turns inside out like a sock. Reverse it, put it through the dishwasher or wash it with mild soapy water, and let it dry completely while reversed.
Looking after it
Empty the pack after every ride and brush the dirty areas with soapy water. Hand wash only: a washing machine or dryer damages the PU coating, and the fabric cannot be ironed. Keep the zips clean, and store the pack closed somewhere dry and well ventilated.
