Lobo 9

The CamelBak Lobo 9 is a mountain bike and hiking hydration pack that comes with a 2 L Crux reservoir and Quicklink system. The CamelBak Lobo 9 weighs 490 g, measures 47 x 6.3 x 22 cm, and adds a ventilated Air Support back panel, magnetic tube trap, helmet carry, tool pockets and a removable waist strap.

Who it's for

Riders and hikers who want one pack that does the lot. Two hours of singletrack at Nerang or Mount Joyce, a big loop through the Gold Coast hinterland, a half-day walk with a rain shell and lunch: the Lobo 9 carries the water, the tools and the snacks without turning into a full daypack. Clip the waist strap in for descents and chunky trails; take it off for smooth fire roads or walking. The mesh harness and the Air Support back panel are designed for ventilation, which counts on a humid Queensland summer ride.

Drinking and refilling

The Magnetic Tube Trap keeps the drinking tube secure and accessible when you need it, and it works with all CamelBak reservoir tubes. To refill, lift the Crux reservoir out of the pack, top it up at the tap and slide it back in.

Cleaning and mould

Mould starts when water sits. After every ride, empty the reservoir, rinse it and the tube, and hang the reservoir open until it is completely dry inside before it goes back in the pack.

Looking after it

Shake out dust and grit after a dry ride and let a sweaty pack air out rather than zipping it away damp. Pull the reservoir out before stowing the pack so the back panel and pockets can dry properly too.
