The USWE Hydro 12L is an MTB and gravel hydration pack with 12 litres of carrying and USWE's no-dancing harness, which straps across the chest so the pack stays locked to your back through rough descents instead of shifting.

Who it's for

Riders going out long enough that 2 litres will not do. Twelve litres and a 3 litre bladder is a full day on the bike with a jacket, tools, spares and food - built for performance-minded mountain bike and gravel riders who want a premium pack that stays put in genuinely gnarly terrain.

Capacity and fit

12 litres in a body 48 cm long, 23 cm wide and 12 cm deep, with the 3.0 L Elite bladder included. The Quick Stash pocket is an open pouch on the outside for the layer you keep taking on and off - the pocket you end up using most on a changeable day, because a jacket you can shove away without stopping beats one you have to unpack the bag for.

Holding it still is the NDM 1.2 harness: a patented four-point suspension that pulls the pack against your back instead of hanging it off your shoulders, with a technical NDM buckle for a more secure closure. Integrated elastic in the straps means it clamps without stopping you breathing, which is the failure mode of every other tight pack.

Drinking and refilling

The bladder uses a plug-and-play coupling, so the tube disconnects from the reservoir rather than having to be threaded out of the pack every refill. On a full day where you fill up two or three times, that is the difference between refilling at the tap and refilling in the car park with everything on the ground.

Cleaning and mould

Empty and dry the bladder after every ride, propped open so air moves right through. A 3 litre reservoir put away damp is one you will be replacing.
